Even old welders can join networked fleet control: current + AI bridges interfaces and generations

In a single shop, welders are often a jumble of brands and ages: the new ones have a data interface, the old ones have no interface at all. So many people assume that old welders cannot be networked and must be shut out of networked fleet control and smart welding.
That is not so. Regardless of whether a welder has a data interface, or which generation it belongs to, it can be brought into unified networked fleet control. The value of smart welding lies precisely in overcoming the gaps in hardware and in welder generation, letting old and new equipment share one network and one management scheme, dispatched together on one dashboard.
For modern welders with a data interface, the approach is most direct: connect to their communication protocol and, at under 3% of the equipment cost, collect operating data such as current, voltage and fault codes to join networked fleet control.
